1. What Information We Collect
1.1 When you visit and interact with our Site, we collect information about you, including personal information. “Personal Information” means information that specifically identifies you or, when combined with other information we have, can be used to identify, locate, or contact you.
1.2 The information we collect may include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and other similar information you voluntarily provide us so that we can communicate with you. When you voluntarily sign up to receive one of our newsletters or to be added to one of our mailing lists, Colorado Business Roundtable may collect information such as your name, e-mail address, zip code, and organization. When you access our Site, we also collect information such as your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address or mobile device ID that when combined with other data can be personally identifiable.
1.3 We also may combine the Personal Information that we have collected about you with other information about you obtained from other sources (both online and offline), such as from third parties and public sources. For example, if you connect with us on social media, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn, so that we can provide you with news and other updates on these platforms, we may use the platforms’ data analytics and advertising tools to obtain Personal Information about you such as your demographics, interests, location and other characteristics, to use for research and analytical purposes, as well as for targeted or online behavioral advertising on other websites.
2. Web Site Navigational Information
2.1 Automated Tracking: In addition to collecting Personal Information, we also use automated technologies to collect non-personally identifiable information about you. This includes details about which of our e-mails you open, forward, or click; your IP address (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web); Internet Service Provider (“ISP”); date and time stamps for your website session; sites visited before and after interacting with our Site; page views, page navigation, and links that are clicked on our Site; ad blocker status; and certain device data (such as operating system type, device type or model, location, browser type and version, user language, and other system settings). The information that we collect using automated tracking technologies is for our legitimate business purposes.
2.2 Web Beacons: We use technology known as web beacons to collect web log information. A web beacon is a tiny graphic used on a web page or in an e-mail message designed to track pages viewed or messages opened. Web log information is gathered by the computer that hosts our Site (called a “webserver”) when you visit our Site. Web beacons in e-mails help us determine which of our e-mail messages were opened and whether a message was acted upon. They also help us analyze the effectiveness of our web pages by measuring the number of visitors to certain pages of our Site and how many visitors click on key elements of it.
2.3 Cookies: We may collect some information from you using a “cookie.” “Cookies” are small bits of data cached or stored on your computer based on Internet activity. They can be placed on your computer both by us and by third parties with whom we have a relationship, such as web analytic services and advertising network services. Cookies help us track and understand how individuals use and interact with our Sites and otherwise manage our Sites. For more information on your choices regarding the use of cookies, please see Section 6.3.
2.4 Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to measure the web traffic on different parts of our Site to improve it. Google Analytics, which anonymously tracks users who have JavaScript enabled, uses technical tools like first-party cookies and JavaScript code to collect information about your interactions with our Site. The tracking information may include detailed data about what you do on our Site, such as the web pages you visit and for how long and the websites you visited directly before and after coming to our Site. In addition, first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) are used to report how your ad impressions, uses of ad services, and other interactions are related to visits to our Site. We use information from Google Analytics to administer and update our Site, assess whether our Site users match the expected Site demographics, and determine how key audiences are navigating the content. Google and its wholly owned subsidiaries may retain and use, subject to the terms of its Privacy Policy (located at http://www.google.com/privacy.html or such other URL as Google may provide from time to time), information collected in your use of the Google Analytics Information Disclosures and Sharing. Google Analytics offers website visitors the ability to prevent Google from recording, processing, and using the data generated by the Google Analytics cookie. You may take advantage of this opt-out by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available through Google at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
2.5 Cross-Device Tracking: Colorado Business Roundtable uses data analytics companies, advertising networks, or social media companies, and features offered by Google Analytics services or pixels such as from Facebook and LinkedIn to engage in “cross-device tracking,” which occurs when platforms, publishers, and advertising technology companies try to connect a consumer’s activity across smartphones, tablets, desktop computers, and other connected devices. The goal of cross-device tracking is to enable companies to link a consumer’s behavior across devices.
2.6 Social Media Plug-ins: We may use social media plug-ins on our Site to enable you to easily share information with others. We use the information collected from the plug-ins to learn about your interests and to help us better understand how to serve you. This information may include your preferences about how to contact you or further develop a business or professional relationship with you, your product preferences, languages, marketing preferences, and some demographic data. These plug-ins may include those from companies like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn. The social media plug-ins may allow these companies to receive directly identifiable Personal Information about you and your visit to our Site. When you visit our Site, the operators of the social media plug-ins on our Site place cookies on your computer that enable them to recognize you on websites belonging to them and their affiliates and partners after you have visited our Site, or that enable them to add the information collected from your visit to our Site with your prior activity on those websites. The social media plug-ins collect this information about users whether they specifically interact with the plug-in or not, and it may enable social media companies to share information about your web-browsing navigational information with some of their other users. Colorado Business Roundtable does not control what information is collected by the social media plug-ins or the information practices adopted by those social media companies. For more information about social plug-ins from social media websites, you should refer to those companies’ privacy and data sharing statements.
