Christopher Haworth
Xcel Energy, Associate Vice President – Operating Company Finance
Chris has over 30 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting leadership roles across a variety of industries. For almost half of his career, he has worked with Xcel Energy, a utility holding company serving more than 3.3 million electric and 1.8 million natural gas customers in Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas and New Mexico. Xcel has been a leader in the utility industry in its transition toward carbon free generation by 2050. Chris currently leads the Revenue Requirements organization for Xcel Energy providing regulatory recovery strategies and working with regulatory commissions on establishing customer rates to ensure Xcel has an opportunity to earn its authorized returns.
Chris also serves on the leadership board for the American Lung Association of Colorado, including roles as the board chair in Colorado and as the current vice-chair for the SW Region, which covers Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma. In these roles, he helps promote the Lung Association’s goal of improving lung health through research, education and advocacy.
Chris graduated from Baylor University in Texas with degrees in Accounting and Information Systems. Prior to joining Xcel, Chris held various financial and corporate controller roles in Colorado and Florida primarily in the telecommunication and cable TV industries. He started his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Arthur Andersen in Dallas, TX.
