Brian Fitzpatrick

Vice President and General Manager

Brian is a key member of the Denver Office Leadership Team, providing oversight and leadership to Mortenson’s projects. In his role, he ensures project goals are aligned and owners expectations are exceeded. His leadership is based on a long and successful track record in the industry that includes several large, world-class projects. Trust, communication, and commitment to meeting customer expectations are his most important attributes. Brian takes pride in being actively involved in projects from start to finish.

Since beginning his career with Mortenson, Brian has proven a talented leader with a passion for applying new ideas to traditional building practices and the expertise to see them through. He has become a go-to resource for our clients when it comes to executing some of the most complex and exciting projects – from large sports stadium projects such as the Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium, to hospitality, mission-critical, and higher education projects both domestically and internationally.

As a leader and an ally at Mortenson, Brian is a firm believer that the best ideas come from welcoming a diversity of perspectives. He’s committed himself to fostering a culture of care here that focuses on awareness, advocacy and action. As the executive sponsor for Mortenson’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity Affinity group, he focuses on creating space for diverse voices, promoting mentorship, creating strategies for overcoming obstacles and building psychological safety among our team members. By consistently walking the walk when it comes to inclusivity, Brian’s efforts have helped reinforce Mortenson as a change agent in the construction industry, and build stronger, more effective project teams in the process.

Brian has made it a core element of his leadership strategy to expand access to and awareness of the meaningful careers available in construction. Recognizing that talent is distributed equally, while opportunity is not, he has supported expanding the places we recruit, and in the way we work to retain and educate our workforce. He applies these lessons to his advocacy in the broader construction industry. As a board member for an Affiliate of ACE Mentor Program of America, Inc., he developed programs aimed at mentorship, internship and outreach.
