Denver resident Sirena Rolfe got caught in a storm without an umbrella in 2012. And so, she decided to invent a solution. "I wanted to be able to attach a hood to any coat or jacket that didn't have a hood," Rolfe, who works as a digital marketing executive, said. "I didn't want to have to lug around a heavy umbrella or coat." The result was a lightweight, water-resistant nylon hood. She named her invention the Tempus Hood, taken from the Latin word "tempus" for "time" and loosely translating to "anytime hood."
