Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Earl's Downtown, 140-1600 Glenarm Place

Cost: Free for Members; $10 for non-Members

Join us for an informative and fun evening of networking and discussion on an issue central to the prosperity of Colorado and Canada: the future of NAFTA.

We will have stellar panel to update us on the status of the ongoing re-negotiations and the implications for Colorado’s business community:

  •   Tyler Rauert, Attorney, Messner Reeves LLC
  •    Karen Gerwitz, President, World Trade Center Denver
  •    Berenice Rendon Talavera, Consul General of Mexico
  •    Stéphane Lessard, Consul General of Canada

The North American Free Trade Agreement entered into force in 1994. Since then, much has changed in our economies, including the advent of the digital age. Canada, the U.S. and Mexico have agreed to modernize the agreement, and discussions have been ongoing since August 2017. Much progress has been achieved, but thorny issues remain. The stakes are very high: Canada and Mexico are Colorado’s no. 1 and 2 trading partners, respectively. In 2016, Colorado exported some $3.9 billion to both countries in animal meats, beverages, petal and wood products and other sectors, supporting approximately 230,000 jobs in the state. For the U.S. as a whole, trade with Canada and Mexico supports 14 million jobs, and the nation’s exports to both countries were $498 billion

Come join us for this important discussion in an informal setting.
