January 9 – Pat Maley – Vistage
Pat Maley, Chair of Vistage, a CEO Peer Group, will talk with Vistage members Rob Bohacs and Eric Schraufnagel, co-founders of ClinTrial. They’ll discuss how technology is changing the flow of information in clinical drug trials and the resulting improvement in patient outcome. Then, Neil Anderson will share a Chief Outsiders conversation about how companies can improve their marketing investment outcome.

January 10 – DORA – Financial Literacy         
Jill Sarmo from the Division of Securities, Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), talks with Natriece Bryant with the Banking and Financial Services Divisions about financial literacy. DORA’s SeniorSafe program now includes a program designed to teach financial professionals how to spot elder financial abuse. We’ll discuss efforts to provide information on financial literacy through life stages - two initiatives, Smart$tart and $tepUp – that will launch in March.

January 11 – Andrew Moriarty – Immigration Reform  
Andrew Moriarty of FWD.us joins Jeff Wasden, President of the Colorado Business Roundtable and a member of the new statewide coalition called Coloradans for Immigration Reform, to discuss current efforts to help pass comprehensive immigration reform. We will talk with Brithany Gutierrez, 18-year-old Colorado State University sophomore, about her experience with DACA (Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals). We’ll hear from Susana M. Muñoz, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Higher Education, Ethnic Studies Faculty Associate, Colorado State University and Elias G. Quiñonez, MA, CSU Colorado Challenge Counselor, The Colorado Challenge, Colorado Department of Higher Education.

January 12 – Edgar Johansson – Aerospace Advocate
Edgar Johansson, COBRT Aerospace Advocate, joins us to discuss progress in Colorado’s aerospace industry. His guests are Rene Simard, Executive VP and Chief of Military Affairs at the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, and Roger McNamara, Director, Launch Abort and Service Module System on the Orion project for Lockheed Martin. They’ll discuss aerospace and defense as it relates to Aurora’s development, and they discuss progress on Orion.

January 13 – Kristen Muzzy – Manufacturing
Kristen Muzzy, Executive Vice President of Business Development for Leading2Lean, advocates for manufacturing progress in Colorado and nationwide. Her guest is Janet Colvin, Manufacturing Pathways Campus Coordinator for the Community College of Denver and Women in Manufacturing board member. Together, they’ll discuss the Advanced Manufacturing Program at Community College of Denver helping manufacturers narrow the workforce skills gap and giving workforce an alternative pathway for a rewarding career.

We continue an ongoing series of “Leading Change Without Resistance” with a focus on The New Way. They’ll guide us through being in the space between “the no longer” and “the not yet” and reflections on your accomplishments in 2016 to better prepare for 2017. 

January 3  – Jeff Wasden – COBRT Year in Review/Preview     
Jeff Wasden, President of the Colorado Business Roundtable, joins us live to review our 2016 COBRT events and discuss our newsletter, website and partnership opportunities.  We will also discuss the partner launch of Dream It Do It Colorado, a statewide coalition to support manufacturing through education. We’ll also have a preview of upcoming 2017 events. 

January 4 – Stephanie Veck – Workforce Development Council and TalentFOUND
Stephanie Veck, Director of the Colorado Workforce Development Council joins with the continuing TalentFOUND series, highlighting job creators in Colorado.  The 2016 class of Colorado Companies to Watch winners have created 3257 jobs!  The show will also highlight the creation of a network of industry intermediaries throughout Colorado in a variety of industries.  This network of statewide industry associations and regional sector partnerships are supporting businesses in a variety of industries and helping build a demand driven talent pipeline.  

January 5 – COBRT – Trade Panel at DEN
Jeff Wasden, President of the Colorado Business Roundtable, joins us with a recap of a panel, “The importance of International Trade,” which was sponsored by City and County of Denver, Denver International Airport, COBRT, CACI and the Chamber of the Americas. Valerie Sanders from WeatherCall Services joins us to discuss WeatherCall as well as facts about the weather industry, how much science is involved in the forecasts, and the advances in technology that WeatherCall can provide to keep you safe in nasty weather. Tune in to hear some great stories at both local and national levels about life-saving calls from the service WeatherCall provides.

December 28 – Jeff Krebs and Lauren Beede – Make-A-Wish Colorado
Make-A-Wish Colorado helps to fulfill the wishes of kids facing life-threatening medical conditions. Jeff Krebs and Lauren Beede, Associate Directors of Philanthropy, will talk with Justin Vaughn of Vaughn Law Offices, Kevin Mohr of Eide Bailly and Keith Barton of California Pizza Kitchen – all sponsors of the Make-A-Wish Wish Store event. The Wish Store is an annual Make-A-Wish Colorado tradition where approximately 350 “wish children” shop for holiday gifts for their family members. Sponsors contributed financially and also provided volunteers to work the event. 

December 29 – Bill Symonds – Global Pathways
Jeff Wasden, President of the Colorado Business Roundtable, hosts today’s show with a guest appearance from Bill Symonds from the Global Pathways Institute. Bill explains why millennials no longer feel that the “American Dream” is a viable path for young adults and what Global Pathways is doing to provide high-quality pathways for economic independence for all youth.

December 30 – Rick Barrera – Heart Led Leadership
Rick Barrera joins us to share his network of incredible leaders and speakers from the Center for Heart Led Leadership. His guest is Jim Hodges, who has an impressive medical background and is currently working at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
