Former President Fox who will share his insights on trade, healthcare and other issues between Mexico and the United States.

Gov. Jared Polis on Thursday signed into law the scaled-back bill to conduct several studies into implementing a paid-family-and-medical-leave law, launching a six-month process in which business and worker groups will vie to get onto a committee that will make recommendations on the issue and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment will oversee three investigations that could determine the future of the long-debated proposal.

Never before have we seen such a massive convergence of technologies affecting cities as profoundly as we see today. Very few have looked at tech adoption rates as something to monitor. The current retail apocalypse is just the tip of the iceberg as many cities in the U.S. are set to lose more than 50 percent of their current revenue streams throughout the next couple decades. At the heart of the problem is an overly complicated sales tax system, ill equipped to bend, flex or morph with the demands of our emerging culture. But it's far more than just sales tax revenue that's at stake.

Hosted by Metro State University President, Janine Davidson, we would like to invite you to join us June 28th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at St. Cajetans on MSU Denver's campus to discuss the Colorado Compact. We will be hearing from Keynote Speaker Senator Michael Bennet followed by a panel of key industry representatives.

We have a great opportunity to show that Colorado is above partisan politics and set the tone nationally by supporting the principles the business community stood behind when the Colorado Compact was first released in 2012. This year, we are working with New American Economy in coordination with Colorado Business Roundtable on the Colorado Compact expansion. New American Economy is a bipartisan coalition of business and political leaders from all 50 states who believe that immigration is critical to our country's ability to grow and compete in a global economy. The Colorado Business Roundtable COBRT, the state affiliate of the National Business Roundtable (BRT), is the premier advocate for proactive, pro-business legislation that strengthens the economy and allows businesses to grow and thrive in Colorado and the region.

Gov. Jared Polis signed seven bills into law Thursday that overhaul the state's approach to energy regulation and setting ambitious goals for cutting greenhouse gas emissions. The main bill, the Climate Action Plan to Reduce Pollution, sets a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% above 2005 levels statewide by 2030, and at least 90% reduction by 2050. State agencies, primarily the Air Quality Control Commission, is tasked with establishing rules to achieve the emissions reductions. The result, when added with the other laws' impact on emissions, will be cleaner air, healthier people and growth in jobs connected to green energy that can't be outsourced, Polis said.

Business Roundtable today released a statement calling on the Administration not to impose tariffs on Mexican imports. "Imposing unilateral tariffs on Mexican imports would be a grave error," the statement said. "Business Roundtable strongly urges the Administration not to move forward with these tariffs, which would create significant economic disruption and tax U.S. workers, farmers, consumers and businesses." Tariffs would threaten passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement and fail to solve issues involving border security and immigration, the statement continued. Business Roundtable said the Administration should work with U.S. neighbors to address trade, migration and security issues without damaging the economy.
