MSU Denver's Health Institute

Today, the state of Colorado health care systems are plagued with inefficiencies, poor to no communication among various health care disciplines, and a lack of understanding the roles various disciplines play in the part of caring for individual patients, their families, and the communities in which they live. These system failures contribute to poor health care outcomes, skyrocketing health care costs, and the avoidance of seeking care at all. Most academic health care programs have attempted in integrating inter-professional education and collaboration. Each program sits in its own silo infrequently communicating with the other departments, faculty, or students to coordinate care, and develop collaborative solutions to improving care delivery. The MSU Denver Health Institute will go far beyond what most academic health care program institutions teach. Here to talk in depth about the institute is Dean of Professional Studies, Dr. Jennifer Capps.
