The United States Senate confirmed three nominees of President Donald J. Trump as members of the board of directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). The bipartisan votes restore the export credit agency to full financing capacity. The Senate's action re-establishes the quorum of three members on EXIM's board of directors that is needed for the Bank to authorize transactions greater than $10 million. During the more than three years that the board was without a quorum, EXIM has been unable to approve these larger transactions, which prevented the bank from authorizing any long-term financings.

Within 5 years, 5G will change our world and society in ways we can't imagine now. 5G isn't just "the next G," it's truly a new generation. 5G will be up to 10 times faster than 4G, operating in near-real time, with a nearly imperceptible lag between action and response.  Buy beyond its faster speeds and quicker response times, 5G will connect and control vast amounts of infrastructure - defense, transportation, manufacturing, utilities, healthcare, banking, autonomous cars...you name it.

Throughout the week, Business Roundtable will promote the findings of its recent economic analysis, "Delivering for America," including state-by-state data.

Business Roundtable today issued a statement following the Administration's announcement that it was imposing additional tariffs on exports from China: "Business Roundtable CEOs are deeply concerned that a return to tariff escalation with China will hurt the U.S. economy and American workers, businesses and farmers. Business Roundtable opposes higher tariffs, which are taxes paid by U.S. consumers, manufacturers and other businesses." China must address its long-standing unfair trade practices, the Roundtable continued. "Business Roundtable is very supportive of the Administration's efforts to negotiate an agreement that resolves structural issues in China. A final agreement should take tariffs down."
