Third Annual ‘Beer Flights’ Beer Garden Returns to Denver International Airport

DENVER – The Third Annual “Beer Flights” beer garden is back at Denver International Airport for the third year in a row. This popular event coincides with worldwide Oktoberfest celebrations and the Great American Beer Festival in Denver and brings a taste of Colorado brews to the airport.

The beer garden will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Sept. 30 to Oct. 10 on DEN’s plaza located outside on Level 5 between the Jeppesen Terminal and Westin Denver International Airport. Tickets are available at the door for $10 and includes a souvenir glass to taste 10, 2-ounce samples of beer. Visitors must be 21 or older with a valid ID to enter. Cash and most major credit cards will be accepted.

“‘Beer Flights’ allows us to showcase Colorado’s outstanding microbrew industry but also recognizes our close friendship with our sister airport in Munich, the home of Oktoberfest,” said airport CEO Kim Day. “We invite beer lovers – whether travelers or neighbors – to stop by our outdoor plaza and sample some of the best beer available this side of Bavaria.”

“Beer Flights” is organized by Denver International Airport and the Colorado Brewers Guild.
Colorado is home to nearly 230 established breweries and more than 10 percent of the nation’s craft breweries can be found in Colorado. A total of 10 Colorado breweries will be represented at the event and each brewery will have two different beers to sample. They include:

  • Avery Brewing - El Gose, Joes Pils
  • Boulder Beer – Buffalo Gold, Pulp Fusion
  • Epic Brewing – Tart ‘n Juicy, Lil’ Brainless
  • Odell’s – Drumroll, Myrcenary
  • Oskar Blues – Priscilla, Beerito
  • Elevation Beer Co. – 8 Second Kolsch, Apis IV
  • Tommy Knocker – Butthead-Bock, Pick Axe
  • SKA Brewing – Steel Toe, Modus Mandarina
  • Telluride Brewing – Bridal Veil, Wahcked Out
  • Renegade Brewery – Pancake Maple, Consilium

DEN will host live musical performances daily from 4-6 p.m. and attendees can also enjoy talks by brew masters, brew trivia, table games and more. Passengers can also purchase souvenir pint glasses only available at the beer garden. The participating brewers will have giveaways for the attendees.

An official Beer Flights event “Passport” will be given to attendees to assist in their taste tour of the Colorado brews. DEN will use #DENBeerFlights when posting photos or information about the event on social media.
