James Benning is the Chief Executive Officer of Catamount Constructors, a 100% employee-owned commercial construction company headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado. With additional offices in San Antonio, Atlanta, and Tampa, Catamount serves clients nationwide. Reporting directly to the company’s board of directors, James is responsible for shaping Catamount’s strategic vision and providing executive leadership with a strong focus on developing leaders, strengthening team dynamics, and cultivating a high-performance culture.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience in the construction and development industries, James has guided organizations through periods of significant growth, transformation, and operational optimization. Since joining Catamount, he has successfully led the company through a pivotal stabilization period and positioned it for sustained future growth. His expertise spans strategic planning, organizational design, leading change, and enterprise performance improvement.

A native of Black Hills, South Dakota, James relocated from Minnesota to Colorado in 2021 and is actively expanding his professional and community network in the region.
