Darren Lemkau is the President and CEO of Commerce Bank in Colorado, where he leads the bank’s strategic growth and customer-focused initiatives across the region. Since joining Commerce in 2013, he has played a key role in expanding the bank’s presence in Denver and the western U.S., bringing a wide range of commercial banking services to mid-sized and larger businesses.

With a career that began at a Chicago-based bank, Lemkau brings extensive experience in lending and market development. At Commerce, he is known for his collaborative leadership style, strategic vision, and dedication to empowering his team. His work has helped diversify the bank’s offerings to include loans, payments, mortgages, and investment services.

Beyond banking, Lemkau serves on the board of Brent’s Place, a nonprofit providing safe housing for children undergoing bone marrow transplants. Though originally from the Midwest, he enjoys boating and occasionally skiing in his adopted home of Colorado.
