Yesterday Colorado Business Roundtable and Denver Business Journal had the second View From The Top event at CU South Denver. We heard from Hikmet Ersek, CEO of Western Union; Denny Marie Post, CEO of Red Robin; and Steve Demetriou, CEO of Jacobs discuss what the go through as they lead fortune companies.

When VF Corp. received a list of potential cities to consider for its consolidation of outdoor and activewear brands and headquarters move, North Carolina and the Southeast in general failed to make the cut. The announcement was made Monday that VF would move its headquarters and consolidate some of its brand to Denver, on top of spinning off the Wrangler and Lee brands into an independent, publicly traded company that will be based in Greensboro. 

Fix The Debt Introduces Fix The System
Yesterday Colorado Business Roundtable attended the Fix the Debt meeting where business leaders discussed how they can make an impact to help the country's debt situation. 
Spend just five minutes talking to business leaders around Colorado, and you can sense the anxiety that pulses just below the surface: Will we be able to find the Colorado talent we need to fill all the jobs we are creating here in one of America's fastest growing economies? 

Nearly seven years after Gov. John Hickenlooper first enunciated the need for a facility in Colorado where next-generation space vehicles an routinely launch and land - ferrying satellites and star-bound tourists into suborbital space - federal regulators have granted Spaceport Colorado its operator license. 

Rep Mike Coffman Join Job Creators Network At Tax Cut Rally Event
National Tax Cuts Work bus tour visited Centennial, CO on Monday, August 13, to thank US Rep Mike Coffman for supporting the largest tax cut in history and the most significant reform in a generation. Coffman joined several local business owners to discuss how the federal tax cuts have helped them and their employees. Job Creators Network also presented Coffman with this Defender of Small Business Award.
The Trump administration rolled out its proposal for gutting former President Barack Obama's most sweeping climate change regulation Tuesday - a move that could also block any future Democratic president from trying to put it back together. The proposal from the EPA goes to the core of the criticisms that the coal industry and conservatives lodged against Obama's 2015 regulation, which used a novel reading of the Clean Air Act to require states to cut greenhouse gas pollution from the power sector. The replacement from President Donald Trump's EPA would give states far more leeway to meet more modest climate goals - or even to opt out of the program entirely.
