U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado confirmed Monday that the Trump administration will seek to move the Bureau of Land Management headquarters to Grand Junction. 

Last month, the governement of Mexico ratified the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. The very next day, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with President Trump at the White House, where he reaffirmed his government's commitment to passing the USMCA as soon as possible. After striking this new deal with our two most important trading partners, the United States needs to lead once again - which means Congress must do its part and pass the USMCA.

There has been much hype about smart cities. The Colorado Smart Cities Symposium provides a forum to support and accelerate this hype into action.

This event includes a full day of general session presentations, breakout sessions and workshops designed to enhance collaboration and move innovation forward. The event also features a tech showcase of cutting-edge smart city solutions. Together, we will create the ultimate citizen experience, one partnership at a time. 


Business Roundtable on Wednesday released a report, "Building Trusted & Resilient Digital Identity," setting objectives for improving digital identity and its use by consumers, companies and the government. "To continue to reap the benefits of the online world, it is imperative that the U.S. government and the private sector work together to strengthen digital identity without sacrificing the speed or convenience that today's society demands," the report says. The report was released at a Business Roundtable program that included remarks by Matt Lira, Special Assistant to the President for Innovation Policy and Initiatives at the White House Office of American Innovation.

The U.S. economy exceeded expectations by adding 224,000 jobs in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Friday, July 5. Unemployment inched up one-tenth of a percent to 3.7 percent as more people looked for work, pushing the labor force participation rate up to 62.9 percent. Annual wage growth remained at 3.1 percent its 11th consecutive month above 3.0 percent. For analysis, see The Top Line, below and online here.
