Innovation, Acceleration & Immigration: Pathways for Start-ups

Friday 9/29
4:00pm — 6:00pm

The U.S. has always been a major destination for the best and brightest tech talent from around the world. Over 40% of Fortune 500 companies were started by immigrants. Without international entrepreneurs, we would not have companies like Dropbox, Google, Uber, CH2M Hill, eBay, PayPal, Instagram, or AT&T. Denver’s emerging tech scene similarly relies upon the contributions of talented immigrant entrepreneurs. 20% of main street businesses in Denver are owned by immigrants.

Despite the undeniable contributions immigrants have made to the innovation space, there has never been a clear immigration pathway for startup founders. The previous administration issued a policy called the International Entrepreneur Rule, which was designed to make it easier for foreign entrepreneurs to legally stay in the U.S. and start businesses. It’s current fate is uncertain.

Come to our panel for the inside scoop on the International Entrepreneur Rule, options for Startup Visa-type legislation, and what you can do to pressure elected leaders to deliver immigration policies that strengthen the American startup ecosystem.
